  • Project Details

From 1997 to 1999 National Wrecking Company demolished all of the buildings and other structures located on Blocks 120, 124, and 125 in Chicago, Illinois. The project included the demolition of a 17 story building at 520 N. Michigan, a 12 story building at 43 East Ohio Street, and two concrete parking garages. The project was particularly challenging because the 17 story building had a limestone façade that the developer was preserving in order to incorporate it into the construction of a new building. National Wrecking Company had to carefully extract approximately 4,500 facade stones of various shapes and sizes ranging from 1,500 to 20,000 pounds and carefully lower them to the ground without damaging them.
