Sheldon J. Mandell

Chairman of the Board

Sheldon is one of the original owners of National Wrecking Company and currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Treasurer. He also remains active as an Estimator and Project Manager. Sheldon has worked in the demolition and salvage industries since 1943. He was the charter President of the National Demolition Association and received the Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. He is a recognized leader in the industry.

Arthur N. Mandell

President

Art has been employed by National Wrecking Company since 1983 and currently serves as the company’s President. Art graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. He has acted as a Superintendent, Estimator and Project Manager on numerous demolition projects including chemical plants, refineries, and industrial structures. One of his many projects is the complete demolition of Wisconsin Steel Works at 106th & Torrence, Chicago, Illinois which included blast furnaces, coke ovens, water treatment facilities and rolling mills.

David Mandell

CFO

David is CFO for National Wrecking Company. He received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University) and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. David has over 10 years of finance experience and is a CFA charterholder.

Joseph F. Naumes

Vice President

Joe started with National Wrecking Company in 1990 and currently serves as Vice President. During this time, Joe has been responsible for all aspects of a project including estimating, contract negotiations, client contact, scheduling, engineering, planning and managing the project through completion. He has managed a wide variety of demolition projects including high rises, industrial buildings, bridges, smoke stacks, and other structures. Joe also has significant experience managing design-build projects where the demolition contractor is responsible for the engineering of the project in addition to the demolition.

Matthew J. Hughes

General Counsel/Risk Manager

Matt is General Counsel and Risk Manager for National Wrecking Company. He has worked for the company since 1999. Matt received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. He is responsible for all legal and risk management matters including contracts, insurance, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Allen Formeister

Estimator/Project Manager

Al has over 47 years of experience in all phases of the demolition industry including high-rise demolition/gutting, industrial strip-outs, power plants, hospitals, schools and bridges. Al’s personal attention to detail allows him to coordinate all aspects of his projects including the permit process, equipment/manpower selection and onsite management.

Richard S. Mandell

Superintendent

Rick has been employed by National Wrecking Company since 1991 and currently serves as a Field Superintendent. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas. He is a certified operating engineer with over twenty eight years of experience in the demolition industry. Rick has completed numerous demolition projects which include cement plants, water towers, silos, high-rises and skyscrapers. Rick also has a tank removal license, OSHA 30-hour Construction Training, and numerous other licenses and certifications.
